MAKING SUBMISSIONS TO THE CPRS AND THE SENATE INQUIRY
After meeting with our federal MP’s on Friday 27th of March it became very apparant that the federal government WANTS us and NEEDS us to make lots of submissions to their proposed legislation and the Senate inquiry if they are to have the courage to take real action.
If there are enough submissions, and we need thousands, it will be clear that people want serious action and they want serious legislation that enables that, and the Government will have justification for altering the legislation in the face of opposition from vested interests.
So there are two processes going on for this currently crummy policy position, a submission to the actual CPRS legislation, and a broader submission to the Senate Inquiry into climate change policies.
The timelines for both are very short.
Senate inquiry is April 8th
Legislation feedback is April 14th.
Options for submissions
1. Use a generic website to do a submission quickly electronically online. There are two:
A-Christine Milne, the Greens Senators site, for the Senate inquiry only. See here
B-The site sponsored by Rising Tide from Newcastle which lets you do both Senate and Legislation. See here
2. Do you own submission. Even a short one, via the websites
